My name is Martín Beracochea, and I am currently the MGnify Production Project Leader at EMBL-EBI. Originally from Uruguay, so I drinks loads of mate.

In my role, I primarily work with Nextflow and Python. MGnify is a public and free metagenomics service that runs thousands of daily workflows on EMBL-EBI’s infrastructure. This requires data and storage management, moving it around, monitoring the cluster, and developing, maintaining, and deploying tools and workflows, among other tasks.

I’m a Nextflow ambassador.
